Sports are physical education for early development. Activity needing physical effort and skill done as a competition according to rules are called sports. The skills learned from sports contribute to the entire development of young people. Through participation in sports, people learn about honesty, teamwork, respect, etc. There are many sports played in worldwide. The top five sports in the world are football, cricket, basketball, hockey, and tennis.

What is Cricket?

As we all know cricket is a national sport of many countries like England, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados, etc. It was started playing in late 16^th century. International matches started playing in 1844. Test cricket begins in 1877. First cricket was started playing in England.

Records:

First world cup of cricket (in 1975) was won by West Indies. The Second world cup (in 1979) was also won by West Indies. The third world cup (in 1983) was won by India. The top five world cups are:

1.   The world cup of 1987 Australia vs England (won by Australia).

2.   The world cup of 1992 Pakistan vs England (won by Pakistan).

3.   The world cup of 2011 India vs Sri Lanka (won by India).

4.   The world cup of 1983 India vs West Indies (won by India).

5.   The world cup of 1996 Sri Lanka vs Australia (won by Sri Lanka).

The current world cup winner played in 2015 was won by Australia.

How to play cricket?

Cricket is a bat and ball game played between two teams. Players take different positions in a cricket stadium. They are ballers, batsmen, all-rounders, fielders and wicket keeper. Each team consists of 11 players. One team bat and another ball. It is decided by doing the toss. The team that balls, it’s all players are present in the ground. One ball, others do wicket keeping and the rest ones do fielding. There are two players present in the ground from another team. When baller balls, the batsman hit it and score a number by running or making six or four. If his hit is high then he can be caught out or if he misses a ball, he can be bold out. If he makes a run and could not reach his position, he can be run out by baller or fielder. The team who bats give a target to another team for beating it. If the other team beats the target, they will be won. In the case of a tie, there will be given a super over. 

Champions trophy:

The first champions trophy of cricket (in 1998) was won by South Africa. The second champions trophy of cricket (in 2000) won by New Zeeland. The third champions trophy (in 2002) the trophy was shared between India and Sri Lanka. The current champion of Champions trophy is Pakistan national cricket team.

عدل و احسان

عدل کے معنی:

عربی زبان میں عدل اسے کہتے ہیں کہ کسی بوجھ کو دوبراربر حصوں میں اس طرح بانٹ دیا جائے کہ ان دونوں میں ذرا سی بھی کمی بیشی نہ ہو۔ عدل سے مراد یہ ہے کہ جو شخص کسی کے ساتھ برائی کرے اس کے ساتھ اتنی ہی بُرائی کی جائے۔ اس طرح ہر کام مناسب وقت پر کرنا بھی عدل کی ایک صورت ہے۔ عدل اﷲکی صفت ہے۔ عدل کی ضد ظلم ہے جس کے معنی ہیں کسی شخص کی حق تلفی کرنا یا اس کے ساتھ زیادتی کرنا، اس کی بُرائی کے مقابلے میں زیادہ بُرائی کرنا یا کسی کام کو غیر مناسب وقت پر کرنا۔

احسان کا معنی:

احسان یہ ہے کہ کسی کے ساتھ بُرائی کے بدلے بُرائی نہ کی جائے بلکہ اس کی بُرائی معاف کر دی جائے اور اسے درگزر کر دیا جائے۔ احسان یہ بھی ہے کہ نیکی میں پہل کی جائے۔ نیکی کے بدلے میں زیداہ نیکی اور بُرائی کے بدلے میں بھی بھلائی ہی کی جائے۔ کسی کام کو خوبصورت اور بہتر طریقے سے کرنا بھی احسان ہے۔

عدل و احسان کی مختلف صورتیں:

عدل و احسان کی بہتر شکل تو یہ ہے کہ ہم حسنِ سلوک کریں۔ کوئی زیادتی کرے تو اسے معاف کر دیں، کوئی بھلائی کرے تو اس کے ساتھ بہتر بھلائی کریں، اسر اگر یہ نہ کر سکیں تو پھر کم از کم اس کے انصاف اور عدل کریں۔ اور کسی کے ساتھ زیادتی نہ کریں لیکن جہاں معاملہ کسی ایسی زیادتی کا ہو جس سے ظالم کی حوصلہ افزائی ہوتو وہاں احسان کرنے کے بجائے معاملہ عدالت کے سپرد کر دینا چاہیے تاکہ دوسرے لوگ اس زیداتی سے محفوظ رہیں۔ بُرائی کو کھُلی چھٹی نہ دیں۔ عدل  پہ ہی نظامِ کائنات کی بنیاد ہے اور اسی کے ذریعے نسانی معاشرہ قائم رہ سکتا ہے۔

نبی کریمﷺ:

نبی کریمﷺ کی پوری زندگی عدل و احسان کا نمونہ تھی۔ اپﷺ نے کبھی کسی سے ذاتی انتقام نہیں لیا۔ صحابہ کرامؓ کو آپﷺ نے فرمایا "آپس میں ایک دوسرے کی کوتاہیوں کو معاف کردیا کرو"۔ آپﷺ نے ہمیسہ اپنے دشمنوں کو معاف کیااور ان کے لیے بھلائی کی دعا فرمائی۔

اﷲتعالیٰ کا ارشاد ہے:

ترجمہ "عدل کرو یہ تقویٰ کے زیادہ قریب ہے"۔ (سورۃ المائدہ :8)

ایک اور جگہ ارشاد ہے:

ترجمہ "احسان کرو اﷲتعالیٰ احسان کرنے والوں کو پسند کرتا ہے"۔ (سورۃ البقرۃ:195)

What is hockey:

As we all know that Hockey is the national game of Pakistan and India. It is played throughout the country. Many of the countries of the world started playing hockey in the 19^th century. It became very popular. British soldiers brought this game to the subcontinent in the 19^th century. Pakistani women also took part in this game.

Records:

Between 1956 and 1986, Pakistan recorded extraordinary conquests which are still unmatched. Pakistan won the Olympic and world cup crowns. The Asian game's title won six times by Pakistan, Olympic and World cup crowns, three of the world precious titles. Pakistan won the champions trophy. No other hockey-playing country has achieved this victory in the history of games so far.

How to play?

Players take different positions in hockey ground. They are attackers, mid defenders, defenders and a goalkeeper who remains in team’s shooting circle, protecting the area. Each team consisting of 16 players, 11 on the field and 5 in the interchange area. Players use their hockey sticks to control, push, pass and hit the ball. The objective of the game is to get the ball into the opposing team’s goal. The team that scores the most goal wins the match. The match consists of two periods of 35 minutes with a short half-time break of about 5 to 10 minutes. If there is a tie so two extra time periods of seven and a half minutes can be given. This is called the golden goal rule. If there is still a tie penalty strokes decide a winner.

Titles won by Pakistan:

The following titles are won by Pakistan. The first Asian games hockey title was won by Pakistan (in 1958 at Tokyo). The first world cup was won by Pakistan (in 1971 at Barcelona). The first junior world cup was won by Pakistan (in 1978 at Versailles). The first champion trophy was won by Pakistan (in 1978 at Lahore). The first Asian cup was won by Pakistan (in 1982 at Karachi).
